I'm sorry to say
I was swamped today.
I did not have time
To relax or Rewind.
Next week, I'll return
With some time to burn,
No looming deadlines,
And no awful rhymes.
Now, I'm off to get
Some much needed rest.
I'm done with this post.
Goodnight... good morning... goodbye.

I Have no Secretary
Hey there, folks! I’m going to be completely honest with you: I don’t want to blog today. I started rambling through a paragraph or two based on one post idea, and then I quit. I’ve been busy. But more importantly, I’ve had quite a few serious posts lately, and I’m tired of being serious. My current list of ideas for future posts are serious, too. I’m almost always reflective in nature, but I don’t feel like using the brain power to sort out those reflections and share them at the moment.
Let me know what you think!
She files his memos
In just the right place,
So he can reach them
If he needs them someday.
So he’s confident.
He need not fear
That the papers he gathers
Will simply disappear.
She tells him the time.
She keeps him on track,
And tends to his schedule,
And helps him switch tasks.
He thinks everyone does.
She organizes,
She remembers,
So he can live free.
I try to use my clocks.
I try to stay on track
Using whatever means.
With great effort, I switch tasks.
My confidence is low.
Rightfully, I fear
That anything I gather
Could eas’ly disappear.
I forget to file memos,
At best, they’re out of place,
So I reach desperately
When I need them each day.
But not everyone does.
I’m disorganized.
Remembering is a great feat.
Sometimes, I wish I were free.

ARGH
Current Events was fun.
It was interesting.
I liked it.
But then Ms. Halsten
Had to give us a topic
That we have to write about.
I can't find any good articles.
I'm about ready to scream.
If I don't find something good,
I might not complete this thing.
I try to be a good student.
Honest, I try hard.
I turn in my work,
Get a good grade,
And go home with a smile on my face.
This assignment is simply too hard.
It's maddening.
It's a trap.
I want to learn
What I want to learn -
So I won't do this.
I WON'T.
But I like my grades too much
.I enjoy being thought of well.
So I'll continue my search
For a newspaper which
Has exactly what I need.
And meanwhile,
I'll think,
ARGH!
It was interesting.
I liked it.

Sleep
Sleep, dear
Sleep, dear,
You are safe
In Dreamland
Sleep, dear,
Sleep, dear,
Keep nasty
Thoughts away
Worry naught,
For troublesome
Thoughts
Never did any good
The future
Is scary
The past,
Beyond reach
So run
To dreamland
And leave
Hardship
Behind
Sleep, dear,
Sleep, dear,
All night
And all day
Sleep, dear,
Sleep, dear,
Brush the world
Away
Sleep, dear,
You are safe
In Dreamland
Sleep, dear,
Sleep, dear,
Keep nasty
Thoughts away
Worry naught,
For troublesome
Thoughts
Never did any good
The future
Is scary
The past,

The Day is Dimming
The day is dimming.
Night is coming.
Panic wells up.
As the sun begins to fade.
I chase it,
Grasping at rays of light,
Willing a bit to stay
Before hope is gone for good.
You can't hold light.
It won't
Be contained
By human hands.
Darkness threatens
To overcome me.
I pray the Lord
Will hold the sun.
Night is coming.
Panic wells up.
As the sun begins to fade.
I chase it,
Grasping at rays of light,
Willing a bit to stay
Before hope is gone for good.

Christmas is Coming
I actually wrote this on December 1, but I wasn't sure at the time that I wanted to post it.
'Tis the season to be jolly,
To decorate with greens and holly.
Does anyone remember where it started?
Or the sacred day in symbolizes?
May You be glorifed,
Your name be praise.
Forgive me, I ask, for my selfishness.
I wish to repent and start anew.
For the seanon is not about me.
It's about You.
The sacrifice You gave
Is greater thatn they say:
You lived and died,
Yet there is so much more.
Your name be praised!
You, God, a mighty warrior,
Left behind Your place.
You steeped down from Your throne
And gave up Your riches.
Humble and generous,
You descended to earth,
Settled in ith Mary
Until Your day came.
Born in a stable,
It was but the beginning
Of a life spent poor.
You grew up to be spit on,
Were whipped an nailed,
And went even lower,
Down to hell.
You came and You conquered.
You rose the third day.
And what thanks did we give You?
How grateful were we?
We replaced You with Santa,
And the Easter Bunny.
Yes, Christmas is coming,
The season joy and good cheer.
Don't let us forget You,
Not this year.

My Christmas List
I want it all to go away -
The darkness, the shame.
I want Your name to be praised -
Glory
And if it's not too much to ask,
What I really would like
Is for this sadness to leave,
And Your joy to shine forth.
'Cause Christmas is coming,
Yet I've got a short list.
Yes, there's some worldly things on there,
But that's not it.
I want the world transformed.
I want it all fixed.
It's hard to be patient
For Your promise.
The depravity -
It irks me -
It makes me want to cry.
I can hardly wait
For Your day,
When light shines forth
To every corner,
And sin's gone away.
'Cause Christmas is coming,
Yet I've got a short list.
Yes, there's some worldly things on there,
But that's not it.
When will Your peace come?
When will Your joy shine forth?
When will love be all
That's known?
The disease of the world
Is spreading in me.
I want to be healed -
Oh, please.
Fix it -
God, I'm begging.
Let the Truth be known
Soon.
The weight of the world
Is bearing down on me.
Though the burden's not mine
To bear... Lord, help.
I want it all to go away -
The darkness, the shame.
I want Your name to be praised -
Glory.
That's my Christmas List.
The darkness, the shame.

I Got a Facebook
I got a facebook.
It is confusing. Very confusing.
I don't understand.
But I guess I will soon.
I don't want to spend all my time on it.
I don't want to be obsessed.
I don't know that I want this facebook.
Yet I have it.
So that's that.
It is confusing. Very confusing.
I don't understand.
But I guess I will soon.
I don't want to spend all my time on it.
I don't want to be obsessed.
I don't know that I want this facebook.

Stress
The stress of the world
Is to much to bear.
I am overwhelmed.
I wish I didn't care.
Even my dreams are stressful.
I toss and turn all night.
Still, sleep is beter that life,
For there I win the fight.
"Be anxious for nothing,"
The Bible says.
"Ask, and it will be given."
So I ask for peace.
Calm my pounding heart.
Unfold my tense chest.
Give me peace
As I face this test.
My fears have no foundation,
For I always survive.
In fact, most of the time,
I thrive.
With the help of the Father,
I will face my life.
I'll overcome my panic
To be rid of inner strife.
Is to much to bear.
I am overwhelmed.
I wish I didn't care.
Even my dreams are stressful.

I Want to Write
I want to write a new story.
Something filled with suspense, fantasy, and love.
I have a million ideas
But nowhere to go.
A princess, a prince,
And a villain so cruel.
A hero with wings,
Or no powers at all.
Illness, death;
So many paths to take!
A battle, a duel,
An emotional maze.
Slavery or oppression?
Sword or arrows?
Brown hair or blonde?
And how many pages?
Should I write a sequel,
Or introduce new characters?
Should there be sisters and brothers?
Or shall she be an orphan?
This is my creative outlet.
I just have one problem:
What story must become tangible?
And which one must lay in the dark?
Something filled with suspense, fantasy, and love.
I have a million ideas
But nowhere to go.
A princess, a prince,
And a villain so cruel.
A hero with wings,
Or no powers at all.

Different
I'm different then the others
Few people understand
I live by rules
And I love to learn
Being different is hard.
I don't enjoy the same things.
I exclude myslf from them.
Surrounded by friends but alone.
My life.
My best friend is my mother.
My second best has moved.
I struggle to be understood,
But my peers cannot.
I care about school.
Is that so hard to respect?
Lonliness encases me,
And stress has followed.
Does anyone have the same cares?
Who but Mom shares my burden?
To be different is difficult.
Even accompanied by love.
Separate, I cry.
Alone, I think.
I praise and I beg.
O, Father, help me.
I am different.
Few people understand
I live by rules
And I love to learn
Being different is hard.

Live With. Live Alone.
Run from the world
Run and be hid
No responsibility
No worries
No fear
Ignore your troubles
Leave them behind
Flee from the crowd
Don’t need them
Don’t care
Crawl into your safe spot
Dream a fantasy
Go far far away
To your land
Alone
Does real life really matter?
Do I need to care?
Don’t think
Don’t feel
Pretend
Go away, world
Leave me alone
Let me fold into a ball
And sleep
Stop knocking
You’re not welcome
I told you to go
Thinking is hard
Life is too full
I know the world can be good
I know I shouldn’t shun
Yet caring is work
I’m too tired to care
Later; Come back later
Friends so kind
Friends so loud
Sweet
Frustrating
Unknown
Let them in
Say hello
You can leave them later
Smile
Laugh and play
Joke with them
Be social
Converse and work
Part of the world
Think
By yourself later
Meditate on truth
Be grateful for those you love
Before you leave
The world
Then be alone
Then don’t think
Then laze around
Then leave
You can pretend
Run and be hid
No responsibility
No worries
No fear
Ignore your troubles
Leave them behind

I Miss You
I miss your smile
I miss you jokes
I miss your play
And hearing your thoughts
I didn't think
It would be this hard
With you there
And me here
I know there's a reason
I know there's a purpose
So I thought I'd be
..........................Prepared
I can't understand
.................Though I want to
I can't make it change
.................Though I miss you
I can, however, visit
And you can visit me
Why can't time tick faster,
Then slow when we're together?
I've survived
I've got God
And we'll see eachother
Soon
You hold on
I'll hold on
We'll both hold on
'til then
I miss you jokes
I miss your play
And hearing your thoughts
I didn't think
It would be this hard
With you there
And me here
I know there's a reason
I know there's a purpose

Even Half
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I recently went down to LA. While there, I wrote a couple poems, and I would like to share one of them here.
Even Half
What a sad world we live in
With many poor and some rich
We live only miles from the needy
Yet often forget to care
We go on trips with our church,
We have a blast helping out
Then go home and getlazy and
Let others do what matters
If even half ofthe rich
Honestly cared
And did more than throw money
Around
If we helped more than on Christmas
If we built friendship and love
If even half of us put
Ourselves into it fully
If we loved without judging
If we did hug and converse
If we gave two kinds of food;
Both bread and the Truth
If even half of us showed
That we really cared
The world would be different
A place where love is shared.
Even Half
What a sad world we live in
With many poor and some rich
We live only miles from the needy
Yet often forget to care
We go on trips with our church,

They're Leaving
Sad
And lonely.
Will all my friends move away?
Fear
As old friendships
Seem to whither to nothing.
First Danielle
Now maybe Sarah
Allan and Cavan too.
Will I be all alone?
The only one in this school?
We need perseverance
And loyalty.
To get through
To make this happen.
They have ideas
I hope will fail
'Cause I don't want them to leave.
I'll be homesick
In my own home.
Alone.
And lonely.
Will all my friends move away?
Fear
As old friendships
Seem to whither to nothing.
First Danielle
Now maybe Sarah

Will I be all alone?
The only one in this school?
We need perseverance
And loyalty.

Chivalry
I wrote this poem a few month ago. I may as well post it, since I have nothing else to write.
Chivalry
Young men,
Do you realize how chivalry makes us feel?
Do you realize how you touch our hearts?
When you open the door, pull out a chair,
Or apologize with a rose,
It warms me up,
Places a smile on my face.
Every courteous and thoughtful thing
Gives girls a pleasure, a special feeling.
We love it when you joke,
When you make us laugh.
We like it when you treat
What we say with respect.
But what really gets us,
What we appreciate,
What we want the most,
Is when you treat us like ladies,
When you do the little things,
When you let us go first,
Or consider our needs.
So, boys, next time you see a girl
Struggling with a load,
Open the door,
Or better yet,
Carry her books for her.
Don’t let chivalry die.
For our sake, keep it alive.
Show us girls
Some gentleman’s care
And know
You have touched a life.
Chivalry
