The Rebelution

On the weekend before last, my class and I had a really cool experience. Okay, actually, we had two cool experiences, but I'm just going to tell you about one of them for now.
You see, there are these twin nineteen year-old guys named Alex and Brett Harris. Perhaps you've heard of them. They have an interesting website at <http://www.therebelution.com/>. They also have a really good book called Do Hard Things. Anyway, my friends and I went to one of their confrences. They told us about how low expectations are and how we teens can really do much more than our culture tells us.
Interesting fact: The word teenager wasn't invented tell 1941 in a Reader's Digest magizine.
Why? Because before the eighteenth centry, there were kids, and there were adults. I am almost 15 and in the old days, I would be considered a part of the adult world.
In the old days, there were some 'teenagers' who accomplished some pretty big things. There was a twelve year old guy named David who, for example, captained a captured ship and kept the defeated captain in his place. There was a girl named Clara who, when she was fourteen, nursed her entire village during a smallpox epidemic. (Clara Barton, founder of the American Red Cross). In our culture, people that same age don't usually do much more than sit around listening to their ipods and IMing eachother.
I could go on, but I won't.
